- Project Monitoring Committee meeting for the DBT-One Health Consortium, entitled “Establishment of a Consortium for One Health to address Zoonotic & Transboundary Diseases in India, including the Northeast” was held at NIAB on 18th & 19th March to review the progress
- NIAB fraternity celebrated International Women’s Day 2024 on 8.3.2024, with a talk on this years theme, Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress by Dr DK. Dey, from Immeureka

- Dr. MK Bhan Memorial Lecture
- Director, NIAB, briefed all employees and students about Special Campaign 3.0 and encouraged all people to participate in the campaign. Swachhata campaign was started at NIAB, where the Swachhata pledge was administered to employees and students. “Swachhata Walkathon” was also held on September 27, 2023.
- Scientists from ICAR-NAARM visited NIAB.
- “Hindi Pakhwada” was organized in NIAB from September 14-29, 2023. As a part of it, the first issue of the institute’s Rajbhasa e-patrika , “Jaiv Pravah,” was released by Director, Dr. G. Taru Shrama. On this occasion, the message of the Secretary of DBT, India was also read out. Various activities/competitions were held to popularize the Hindi language. Prof. RS Sarraju, Pro vice-chancellor, Hyderabad University attended Hindi Pakhwada’s closing ceremony as chief guest.

- Inauguration of Rajbhasha E-patrika “Jev Prawah” by Director NIAB during Hindi Pakhwada 2023
- Under the guidance of DBT, Swachhata Campaign was started at NIAB, Hyderabad where Swachhata Pledge was administered to the employees & students. Various events are planned during Swachhata Pakhwada which will be concluded on October 2, 2023.
- MoA was signed between NIAB & Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS) on August 16, 2023.
- NIAB celebrated 77th Independence Day by hoisting the Indian National flag at NIAB, Hyderabad.
- NIAB participated in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.
- Prof. Vijayalakshmi Ravindranath Founder Director, NBRC, Manesar & CBR, Bangalore delivered Institute Day Lecture on “Our Lives and Our Brain” at NIAB , Hyderabad
- 15th Scientific Advisory Committee meeting of NIAB was held on 4th & 5th August 23 at NIAB, Hyderabad.
- Dr Nayee Nilesh Girdharbhai, NDDB delivered a talk on “Animal Breeding efforts by NDDB” at NIAB, Hyderabad.
- MoU was signed between NIAB & NDDB on 28.7.23
- SERB sponsored Karyashala workshop through accelerate vigyan scheme on ‘Basic and Advanced Techniques in Immunohistochemistry and Cytochemistry’ was held at NIAB, Hyderabad
- Hindi workshop was organized in the institute. Mr. MK Nagaraju, Official Language Officer, South-Central Railway, delivered lecture on “Policy Rules of Official Language”
- NIAB celebrated World Zoonoses Day by organizing lectures of two eminent personnel Dr. Pallab Chaudhuri, Joint Director, IVRI Izatnagar on ‘Zoonoses: Awareness to stay healthy around animals’ and Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Narang, Head, Department of Microbiology; Dean-Academics, AIIMS Bibinagar on ‘Zoonosis to One Health: Our journey so far and future prospects’ at NIAB, Hyderabad.
- Dr. Lalji Singh memorial lecture was delivered by Prof. Padmanabhan Balaram. Former Director, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, On “Reflections on Science in the Aftermath of the Pandemic” at NIAB, Hyderabad

- Prof. K VijayRaghavan, Former PSA to Govt of India visited the DBT-NIAB and delivered the World One Health Day lecture on 3 Nov. 2022, interacted with faculty, fellows and students. He also inaugurated the “High-Content Screening” facility at the Institute and visited CIF
- Dr Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary, DBT visited NIAB to chair the GB meeting of the institute. He has interacted with scientists, staff and students, enlightened them with his vision of “𝗙𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀”. He also inaugurated the Small Animal Facility, visited large animal farms. He concluded the Fit Indian Freedom Run campaign as well.
- Dr G. Taru Sharma administered the Vigilance Pledge and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge on 31 Oct. 2022
- Dr Satish Kumar Gupta, Former Scientist, National Institute of Immunology delivered the WorldAnimalDay2022 lecture at NIAB Hyderabad.

- 14th SAC Meeting of the Institute was held on September 21 & 22, 2022.
- Commemorating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Science Museum established by NIAB under the guidance of DBT was inaugurated by Dr G. Taru Sharma, Director at Adarsh Vidayalya at Aspirational District Yadgir
- Dr. Lalji Singh Memorial Lecture for 2021 was delivered by Prof. Partha P. Majumdar, Distinguished Professor, NIBMG, Kalyani on “Tracing Some Developments on Human Genetics in India” on 5th July 2022, at 9:00 am in NIAB Auditorium.
- NIAB Celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2022.
- Dr. G. Taru Sharma, Director, Dr. Nagendra R. Hegde, Scientist H & Head (A&R), Dr Pankaj Suman, Scientist D, Mr Sarwar Azam, Scientist C & Mr. Shashikanth Gawai, Technical Officer, NIAB participated in the “Biotech Start-up Expo-2022” organised by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India along with its public sector undertaking Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) held on 9th & 10th June 2022 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
- NIAB celebrated “World Environment Day 2022” on 5th June 2022 by planting trees inside the campus.
- Laboratory Animal Scientists’ Association (LASA) conference 2022 was jointly organized by DBT-NIAB, ICMR-NARFBR, Hyderabad & LASA India on 3rd and 4th June 2022 at ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad.
- Dr. Lalji Singh Memorial Lecture for 2020 was delivered by Dr Shekhar C. Mande, Former Director-General, CSIR & Secretary, DSIR, Govt. of India on “How atomic view has enhanced our understanding of biology” on 2nd June 2022 at NIAB, Hyderabad.
- Miss Deepshikha Shahdeo, associated with Dr. Sonu Gandhi, scientist D, NIAB as a Project Associate has been selected for the prestigious joint PhD program at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD) and University of Queensland, Australia (UQ). Her main research interests lie in cloning and expression of recombinant proteins, antibody generation, development of nanovehicles for receptor targeting. NIAB congratulates Ms Deepshikha and wish her all the best for her future endeavours.
